About the Company
We are an established European industrial group specializing in food production and agricultural processing. Our local operating unit is an essential production facility supporting clients and markets across Europe. To support our growth and transition towards direct internal management, we are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Finance Leader to oversee our Bulgarian financial operations.
Role Overview
The Finance Director / CFO will lead the transition of our local financial processes from external accounting providers to an in-house function. Acting as a key partner to local operations and reporting directly to HQ Finance in Italy, you will establish robust financial reporting, oversee daily accounting activities, and ensure full alignment with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- In-House Transition: Successfully internalize financial, tax, and accounting tasks currently handled by external accounting firms.
- Financial Accounting & Reporting: Manage daily accounting tasks (invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger) and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
- Financial Controlling & HQ Alignment: Deliver clear, structured financial figures and management reporting to HQ Finance.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure complete statutory compliance with Bulgarian tax and financial regulations.
- Operational Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Plant Operations Manager and local team to support operational decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Proven experience in a Finance Leadership role (Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Chief Accountant) within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial reporting, statutory accounting, and financial analysis.
- Background: Experience working in external audit or consulting (Big 4 or equivalent) is considered a strong plus.
- Languages:
- English: Business fluent (Required).
- Italian: Working knowledge is a significant advantage.
- Work Style: Pragmatic, hands-on mindset, able to manage operational details while providing strategic oversight.
Work Structure
- Flexible arrangement (Minimum 3 days on-site at the production facility).
