The Role
Our client is looking for a Controls Testing Analyst to join the Risk & Compliance team across Italy and the UK.
In this role, you will contribute to strengthening the company’s risk and control environment by supporting compliance monitoring activities, testing key controls, managing operational incidents, and identifying opportunities to improve and automate reporting processes.

Main responsibilities/activities:

  • Deliver monitoring and controls testing activities across key regulatory and operational areas.
  • Support the maintenance and evolution of the Risk & Compliance framework.
  • Manage operational incidents end-to-end.
  • Produce clear and data-driven MI and reporting for senior management and governance committees.
  • Identify opportunities to automate controls testing, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Provide effective 2nd Line challenge to business stakeholders and support thematic reviews and audits.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Italy and the UK to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Risk & Compliance function.


Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in the role within Fintech, Wealth Management, or broader Financial Services.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English (written and spoken).
  • Previous experience in monitoring, controls testing, risk, compliance, or audit within financial services.
  • Good understanding of key regulatory frameworks including MiFID II, SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty, AML/KYC.
  • Advanced Excel skills.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Law, Engineering, or similar fields.
  • Professional certifications such as IRM, ICA, ACCA, CISI, or equivalent are considered a plus.
