IT DIRECTOR

For our client, an innovation-driven company applying AI and digital technologies to reshape operations in heavy industries, we’re looking for a

IT DIRECTOR (f/m/d)

to lead technology operations across mining sites, driving digital transformation, infrastructure optimization, and cybersecurity. Reporting to the CTO, this person will oversee the strategic execution of IT systems while ensuring secure, high-performing, and resilient environments that support both business and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead IT strategy, planning, and execution in line with corporate objectives
• Oversee infrastructure, enterprise systems, and digital solutions across remote mining environments
• Ensure seamless integration between IT and OT systems, supporting automation and real-time data use
• Implement cybersecurity frameworks and manage compliance with relevant industry standards
• Drive the adoption of data analytics, BI tools, and predictive technologies for operational improvement
• Manage service delivery, support teams, and vendors, ensuring top-tier performance and user experience
• Develop and oversee IT budgets, vendor contracts, and cost-effective technology investments
• Foster a proactive IT culture focused on security, innovation, and business alignment

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years in IT leadership roles within mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry
• Strong background in ERP, SCADA, IoT, cloud services, and cybersecurity
• Proven experience aligning IT and OT systems in complex industrial settings
• Deep understanding of infrastructure management, data governance, and remote connectivity
• Strong project management skills (PMP certification is a plus)
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Fluent English

Location: Canada. It’s a home office based position, but it is required to travel to the client’s site.
