Our client is a family-owned company that markets decorative products and home accessories. With a strong presence in over 100 countries, it now has an international reach.
To strengthen the online purchasing experience for B2B customers and develop B2C activity, we are looking for an PURCHASING & PLANNING LEAD (m/f/d) to ensure optimal product availability and the efficient functioning of the international supply chain. This is a hands-on role, in which you not only coordinate but are also actively involved in planning, ordering and follow-up through to import and receipt of goods.
As an operational leader, here are your main responsabilities:
- Independently creating and monitoring an efficient purchasing plan to ensure products are available on time and in the right quantities, taking into account stock rotation, warehouse capacity and seasonal peaks.
- Guiding and supporting the purchasing team in managing orders, import formalities, transportation and delivery lead times.
- Personally following up on critical or complex cases (key suppliers, delivery issues, escalations) and intervening where necessary.
- Optimising purchasing and planning processes, including stock management, logistics costs and supplier reliability.
- Developing, motivating and coaching your team to ensure a high level of performance.
- Management of purchasing planning and stock optimisation
- Monitoring OTIF deliveries and proactively resolving availability issues
- Management of suppliers, transport partners and import formalities
- Monitoring KPIs: transport costs, supplier quality, stock rotation, obsolete stock
Your profile
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach teams and drive continuous improvement across purchasing and planning activities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within an international environment
- Solid analytical mindset, strong sense of ownership, and good understanding of import processes
- Experience with ERP systems and process optimization
- Languages: fluent in Dutch and French, with a good command of English
